Take it to heart
Original devotional reflection; this is not a Scripture quotation.
Courage is not always a dramatic act. It may be asking a necessary question, admitting that you need help, or doing the right thing when it is inconvenient. Read today's passage with one avoided responsibility in mind. Fear may still be present when you act; you do not have to wait until it disappears. Seek wise support, choose a proportionate step, and take it with care. Quiet faithfulness can be braver than an impressive gesture.
Let us pray together
Original prayer
Lord, give me courage that is steady rather than reckless. Help me recognize the responsibility I am avoiding, seek wise support, and take a careful step toward it. Let my desire to appear strong give way to the willingness to act faithfully. Amen.
One small step today
Identify one necessary task you have avoided. Ask for advice if needed, then take its first manageable step today.
Night has fallen · the examen comes first
As the day comes to a close
Five moments to look back on your day with God.
- Before sleeping, remember the One who never sleeps.
- One joy, one encounter, one word: three graces to give thanks for.
- Where did you feel the touch of His hand today?
- If something was not right, name it clearly to Him and leave it there.
- Tomorrow, seek Him on waking. Tonight, rest on His breast.
✝ In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Amen.
