In His presence

Your daily blessing

The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty, he will save: he will rejoice over thee with gladness, he will be silent in his love, he will be joyful over thee in praise.

Take it to heart

Original devotional reflection; this is not a Scripture quotation.

Wisdom often begins with admitting that we do not yet see clearly. Read today's Scripture before a decision you need to make. Separate what you know from what you assume, and notice the people your choice will affect. Prayer can create space for honest attention; it does not remove the need for careful thought. Seek trustworthy counsel where needed. Then choose the next responsible step, with enough humility to revise your course when you learn more.

Let us pray together

Original prayer

Lord, guide my attention before I choose. Help me distinguish facts from assumptions, listen to wise counsel, and consider those affected by my decisions. Give me patience when clarity takes time and humility to change direction when I discover that I was mistaken. Amen.

One small step today

For one decision today, write two short lists: what you know and what you still need to learn. Find one trustworthy answer before acting.

As the day comes to a close

Five moments to look back on your day with God.

  1. Your Father has been waiting for this hour. Come, without masks, as a child.
  2. Recall the first moment of the day. Did you give thanks then? Do it now.
  3. What did you leave undone out of love? What did you do out of pride?
  4. Speak to Jesus as a friend — He listens as no one else listens.
  5. Receive the peace. The peace the world cannot give.

✝ In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Amen.
