Take it to heart
Original devotional reflection; this is not a Scripture quotation.
Waiting becomes heavier when we believe we must carry it alone. Think of a person whose future feels uncertain and consider how you might remain present without promising an outcome. Hope can be expressed through dependable companionship: keeping an appointment, remembering a concern, or returning after the first difficult conversation. Such care leaves room for grief while refusing to abandon love. Read today’s Scripture slowly, and bring this ordinary situation before God with an open heart.
Let us pray together
Original prayer
Lord, teach me to remain faithful beside people who face uncertainty. Let your grace shape my choices today. Give me an honest heart, patient attention to others, and the humility to begin again when I fail. May my small actions serve love. Amen.
One small step today
Arrange a short check-in with someone who is waiting through uncertainty, and keep that commitment.

As the day comes to a close
Five moments to look back on your day with God.
- Before asking, give thanks. Before thinking, listen.
- Name three small goodnesses of the day — God speaks in small things.
- What gave you peace? What stole your peace? The Lord is in the first.
- Bring to the cross what weighs on you. He has already carried it.
- Receive the blessing of the night in His name.
✝ In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Amen.
