About this Scripture text

Those who wait on Him will not be put to shame.

A word of encouragement
The protection of a loved one's voice in the distance is like a gentle prayer that carries you forward. It wraps around you like a warm blanket. Even in the midst of chaos, you are held.

Take it to heart
Original devotional reflection; this is not a Scripture quotation.
Wisdom often begins with admitting that we do not yet see clearly. Read today's Scripture before a decision you need to make. Separate what you know from what you assume, and notice the people your choice will affect. Prayer can create space for honest attention; it does not remove the need for careful thought. Seek trustworthy counsel where needed. Then choose the next responsible step, with enough humility to revise your course when you learn more.
Let us pray together
Original prayer
Lord, guide my attention before I choose. Help me distinguish facts from assumptions, listen to wise counsel, and consider those affected by my decisions. Give me patience when clarity takes time and humility to change direction when I discover that I was mistaken. Amen.
One small step today
For one decision today, write two short lists: what you know and what you still need to learn. Find one trustworthy answer before acting.
Night has fallen · the examen comes first
As the day comes to a close
Five moments to look back on your day with God.
- Be still. Your Father looks at you with love before you turn to Him.
- Count the small mercies of the day: a word, an encounter, a piece of bread.
- Where did you feel life today? Where did you feel death? Do not judge — observe.
- Bring to Christ what weighs on you. Leave it at His feet.
- Entrust the night and the coming day to God.
✝ In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit Amen.
